EXCLUSIVE: How to recreate Nicole Scherzinger’s X Factor makeup
Nicole Scherzinger was looking particularly stunning this weekend on The X Factor. Our November cover star was giving us all sorts of beauty goals, showing off her flawless glowing skin and mermaid hair. We had to have a chat with Nicole's Makeup artist, Emma Osbourne, on how to achieve the gorgeous looks.
"The inspiration for today's look was nude and glowing skin to compliment the vibrant purple dress," Emma said.
Because Nicole has been travelling a lot, Emma started off by applying an instant eye opener serum by Instant Effects and Cult 51's Immediate Effect Serum to moisturise and invigorate the rest of the face. Dull looking skin is never an ideal canvas for your makeup.
For a natural glowing complexion but full coverage, Emma used a water-based foundation from EX1 Cosmetics. You can apply it with a brush or sponge.
With Stila's palette The Eyes Are The Window, Emma used the lighter colour of the set on the inner of the eye and built up with warm darker tones on the edges.
And since glowing skin and nude lips never deceive, Nicole's lips were lined with MAC Lip Pencil in Spice and finished with Bobbi Brown's Nude Lipstick.
For the elimination round Nicole was looking like a total babe with soft waves and red lipstick.
Skin was prepped with CULT 51 serum all over the face - perfect for firming and invigorating. Afterwards Emma applied a full-coverage creamy foundation. Emma advises foundations with buildable coverage to achieve a light results. "I love to use ex1 foundations I have never found a colour that matches her golden tone so perfectly allowing it to have enough coverage without the it looking or feeling too heavy on camera! It's pigments are so rich and creamy it really does just glide on and sink in to your skin without any effort," Emma said.
Using a darker shade, contour was applied under the cheekbones and under the jaw line. Emma used a bronze tone from Armani, a good shade to add a bit of warmth to the skin.
A pop of colour was added to the cheeks with a peach blush, great for enhancing the makeup's golden tones.
If you want to copy this look, keep the eyes simple and natural by applying lashes one by one. Finish the look with bold lips: MAC Retro Red Liquid Lipstick lined with a burgundy pencil should do it.
